INTERFOTO 2015 / fifth edition

INTERFOTO 2015 is the 5th edition of the well-known photography exhibition organised by the Fine Arts and Design Faculty of the Timisoara West University and endorsed by the Timisoara  City Hall.
The Symposium recently became the most important photography exhibition in the Western Romania, as a costant and earnest  visual-cultural event.
This edition exhibits more than 200 artworks made by 50 international photographers belonging to countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Romania. The themes  are widely variable, starting with traditional ones – portrait photography- and ending with the experimental photography, exploring a vast teritory such as: nude, architecture, sports, nature, press coverage, nature, fashion, still life, digital postprocessing, macro, aso.
Apart from the exhibition presented in the Mansarda Gallery of the Fine Arts and Design Faculty, there are many other important activities during Interforto 2015: a conference, a multimedia presentation and 4 workshops. All of these qualify Interfoto as a socio-cultural phenomenon. Interfoto became a hub of photography-related visual communication, a meeting point of the international experience with the freely-expressed imagination of eache one of the participating photographers.
This years’s edition has the privilege, as the last year’s one, of having, as collaborator, the Fototage Pirmasens Festival from Germany (www.pirmasens-fototage.de). This year’s novelty consists of CEWE involvement, the company being a world lieder in photo print  (www.cewe.de). This company has a worthwhile approach of getting involved in the professional photography phenomenon. With this help,  we have been benefiting of top quality prints, made by Alu-Dibond technology, completely supported by CEWE.
To draw the conclusion, we can define Interfoto as a broad and interesting creative experience, displayed both in academic and unconventional areas. Due to the fact that the concept and the quality are  evolving by the year, one can end only by the well known show must go on …
